Six months since our last update and progress at the site of Polygon Homes' Promenade at The Quay has been moving along nicely, the 12-storey residential project now reaching nearly two levels above grade. Designed by Main Street Architecture, the mixed-use development will be arranged with 117 units of residential spread across ten floors, which will sit atop a varied, 2-and-3-storey retail podium with frontage along West Esplanade and Carrie Cates Court.

Viewed above and below, the build site changes grade as it approaches Carrie Cates Ct from W Esplanade sloping downward towards the Lonsdale Quay Market and the North Vancouver waterfront.

Down at Carrie Cates Ct, the south retail component is beginning to take shape, the size and scope, at least of the podium level opposite the entrance to the Market, providing a good sense of how the structure will fit into its surroundings.

Having replaced two small rows of low-rise retail, Promenade at The Quay will replace, and significantly expand what was lost in the demolition process with a new row of shops, cafes, and other services.

Viewed above from the Market, the view back up to central North Vancouver highlights the degree to which the project will fit into the neighbourhood, the injection of at least 200 new residents to the area to bolster the already vibrant urban streetscape.

SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
