Viewed from the Burrard Dry Dock Pier in North Vancouver, the downtown skyline appears as a contiguous line of steel and glass skyscrapers seemingly floating above the shoreline. For this week's Throwback Thursday, we will compare two nearly identical images, albeit from 2009 and 2018 respectively.

Contrasted with the image below from 2018, many additions to the downtown skyline can be seen, the thicker silhouette evidence of the development spree that has been a defining feature of the city over the last decade.

Standing tall above Canada Place, to the left of the freighter, the Private Residences at Hotel Georgia can be spotted, while to the right, near the centre of the freighter, the now controversial visage of the Trump International Hotel and Tower can be made out.
