The first office tower to grace the Broadway corridor in five years, the 10-storey, 988 West Broadway by BlueSky Properties has now all but reached completion, replacing the long-stadning strip mall that for decades defined the SE corner of Oak and Broadway.

Climbing a steep grade up Oak Street from West Broadway, the retail podium has been designed to maximize its commercial frontage along the latter, the two-storey, mixed-use lobby space to offer a mix of ground-floor retail, and second-floor amenity space for office employees.

Located at the proposed site of the Broadway-Oak Street Station, the 104,000 square-foot office tower has been designed with the rapid transit project in mind, the basement to offer a direct connection to the planned Broadway Subway line.

Once complete, 988 West Broadway will provide its tenants with a great deal of flexibility, its interconnected stairwells and customizable floor plans to allow either partial, single, and multi-floor office spaces. Cleverly designed, and well-integrated into the streetscape, the forward-thinking project will hopefully become a harbinger of good things to come for the Broadway corridor.
