Westbank's Kensington Gardens development is nearing completion in Vancouver's East Side, representing a monumental shift from a big-box Canadian Tire to a 404-unit urban village. A trio of 14-storey buildings, each formally distinct, bears a contemporary design by Henriquez Partners Architects that features a number of external spiral staircases belonging to the penthouse units.

The three residential towers at Kingsway and Gladstone Street surround a residential podium, a collection of townhouses, and an elevated amenities courtyard, where residents can enjoy a central swimming pool, fitness centre, multimedia lounge, and fireplace-equipped barbecue area.

As finishing touches are applied to the development, with the site's crane still active, Vancouver's fourth T&T Supermarket will find a home within the 33,000-square-foot retail space in the complex. The company is opening its largest location in the country, a 74,000-square-foot store in Richmond, this summer.
