The parking garage at 753 Seymour Street has been reduced to a messy pile of rubble as construction crews work towards bringing GWL Realty Advisors' Vancouver Centre II to life. The 33-storey glass volume, designed by Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership, is being built on spec in what amounts to a huge vote of confidence in Vancouver's tight office market.

The AAA office tower has been thoughtfully articulated to achieve LEED Platinum standards, with particular attention paid to the building structure, window locations, glazing performance, interior finishes, ventilation, and lighting systems. Tenants will also have a sustainable option for their commutes — a direct, underground connection services two SkyTrain lines.

The next phase of the Vancouver Centre complex, which already includes the Scotia Tower at 650 West Georgia and Vancouver Centre Mall, is being developed on behalf of owners Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan, the Great-West Life Real Estate Fund, and London Life Real Estate Fund. The new building's light-filled lobby atrium will provide a link to Scotia Tower.

Floor plans in the tower are open and flexible, adapting to the needs of tenants as they come and go. The complex will include a private fitness facility, yoga studio, changerooms, showers, and end-of-trip cycling facilities, making a two-wheel commute an easy alternative to driving. A 29th floor skyline rooftop deck ensures tenants on lower floors can still enjoy sweeping panoramas.
