Not to be overshadowed by the exploding skylines of Vancouver, Burnaby and Surrey, Coquitlam is showing its might in the Lower Mainland's skyscraper department with a 49-storey tower that will dwarf its surroundings. Marcon Developments is the developer set to forever embed the landmark into the cityscape of Coquitlam, partnering with GBL Architects to realize an angular glass and concrete skyscraper rising from foundations at the corner of Clarke Road and Como Lake Avenue.

A bellwether of the city's blossoming relationship between transit and density, 567 Clarke + Como introduces a heap of animation to a stretch of Clarke Road typified by tired and quintessentially suburban retail outlets. Located steps from the Evergreen Extension's Burquitlam station, the site demands something better. The development aims to bring the kind of urban-friendly retail that has made the core of Vancouver a vibrant, go-to destination, by orienting its commercial portions to the street, and overflowing its footprint with patios and wide sidewalks.

Each of the 364 planned units are to be bathed in natural light via floor-to-ceiling windows. Sweeping balconies, laminate flooring, stainless steel appliances, and solid quartz countertops in the kitchen come standard across the two-bedroom-plus-den and three-bedroom-plus-den floor plans.

A signature amenities portfolio begins on the ground floor and mezzanine levels, where residents can find a private kitchen and lounge, outdoor court, dog run, children's playground, and a picnic area. Another amenities space on the 28th floor is devoted to health and wellness, spreading the full floor with a fully equipped gym, indoor sports court, yoga room, music and karaoke rooms, table tennis, a second play area for kids, and two guest rooms. Finally, the tower's top level takes advantage of its height by finishing the space with a private dining room, sports lounge, and outdoor entertaining area.
