The Sun Towers by Belford Properties is positioning itself as the crowning element in the "Golden Row" of condominium highrises huddled around the Metrotown Skytrain Station, and with two towers of 41 and 26 storeys, the development will make an immediate impact on the Burnaby skyline. Located across the street from the recently complete Silver Condos by Intracorp, the development is set to contribute to the retail-oriented streetscape emerging along Beresford Street.

A total of 479 one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes will be split between the two towers. The first 285-unit tower has already completely sold out, while homes in the 194-unit sibling building are gearing up to launch in 2018.

The project's marketing material shines a spotlight on the expansive amenities list, which includes a rooftop outdoor space dotted with fireside seating, vegetation and a kitchen area. In addition to the eighth level deck, there's another 24,000 square feet of amenity space on offer across levels one and two, where residents can find a 60-foot pool and hot tub benefitting from floor-to-ceiling windows. Those looking to get their heart racing can make use of the fitness room, indoor badminton court and virtual golf room. A large private member's lounge is equipped with a television, fireplace, billiards table, reading areas, a kitchen, and a communal dining area.

The IBI Group-designed towers will be anchored to the ground by a large podium — The Centre at Sun Towers — housing approximately 70,000 square feet of office space and 30,000 square feet of retail space. The glitzy renderings portray a substantial physical change from the two apartment buildings that currently occupy the site. The demolition of low-rise apartment buildings for soaring condominium towers isn't new to Burnaby, particularly Beresford Road, where new development has been especially acute.
