In the midst of the West End neighbourhood, a 32-story residential tower has been proposed, with a rezoning application submitted to the City. Currently the site at 1055 Harwood Street is occupied by a three-story co-operative housing structure on 17,292 square feet of land. Developed by Intracorp and Strand Development, the project will comply with the City's West End Plan, including the allocation of at least 25 percent towards social housing units in order to "support a range of affordable housing options to meet the diverse needs of the community."

The NSDA Architects-designed project will contain 82 two-, three-, and four-bedroom units in pursuit of making "100% of the proposed market unit mix family-oriented." There will also be 44 social housing units, with only 15 percent of them classified as studios. The 126-unit building will contain its non-market housing share in the seven-story base of the tower — materially differentiated from the rest of the volume — while market housing will make up the rest of the building above.

Amenities and features include 156 underground parking spaces and 158 bicycle parking spaces, a patio area, urban agriculture plots, a children's play area, and an outdoor kitchen and dining area for the social housing units. Having been submitted late last month, the 91-metre proposal is currently being assessed by the City.
