There's no denying that Marine Drive Station at the corner of the eponymous thoroughfare and Cambie Street has acted as a magnet for highrise development. Better transit has meant that two out of its four corners are now occupied by tall and dense residential towers. And that doesn't even count Onni Group's Northwest, which is taking shape on the northwest corner.

The two-building development includes a 31-storey tower and a podium anchoring the complex to the corner. The project's 350 homes offer one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans to potential buyers in concrete glass-sheathed structures.

A development application was originally submitted by Wesgroup Properties using a design by Francl Architecture. The site was then sold to Onni Group and IBI Group was brought on board as the architect. Like its neighbours, the building is wrapped in balconies, so water, city, and mountain views should be plentiful. To differentiate itself from the area's newfound highrise makeup, Northwest employs a gentle curve in its floor plate that will further enhance residents' sightlines.

Forum contributor City Of Rain recently paid a visit to the site, snapping photos that both put the building in context and show some of the finer details of the facade. The towers appear to have reached their final height, as cladding continues to envelope the naked floor plates below.
