  • 8,737 sq. ft. of retail space;
  • a floor space ratio (FSR) of 3.44;
  • a building height of 18 m (59 ft.) from grade; and
  • 73 vehicle parking spaces and 80 bicycle spaces.

At least this one has retail.
The neighbouring seniors home does not - in the middle of the Oakridge town centre.
 
Its just weird to see a church is right below the condo in the same building.

This project will actually be a rental, but there are already a few similar projects in Vancouver, both rental and condos. I think it's a win-win; more housing and a new church.

There is also a proposal in East Van:
 
The church just needs to have the assurances in place that the project will proceed.
A similar arrangement with a Royal Canadian Legion Hall in Burnaby's Heights went sideways and the Legion was left without a new hall.


 
Interesting. They did a Legion development in Calgary also. Luckily the new Legion building got built, but it shows that you never know for sure until it's done. In the Calgary case they waited until the new Legion building was finished before tearing down the old one. I wonder if it's because of what happened with the one in Burnaby....
