White Spot Restaurant on West Georgia Street might be serving up its last burger soon. That's because Shato Holdings — founded by White Spot owner Peter Toigo — is proposing to replace the eatery with a two-tower residential development designed by IBI Group and PWL Partnership. Earlier this month, Shato Holdings unveiled their initial plans for the site at 1616 West Georgia Street, illustrating the pair of glassy 39- and 33-storey towers.

The 350-unit development will include 274 units with two or more bedrooms, with suite layouts starting at 502 square feet. A two-storey podium between the towers contains townhouses fronting onto Alberni Street, while below the ground, 389 parking stalls will lie across five levels. The preliminary batch of renderings depict a material mix of curtain and window wall and light stone finished at the base of the complex.

Shato Companies recently completed a mid-rise condominium project, The Spot on Cambie, which saw the redevelopment of a White Spot restaurant at West 13th and Cambie Street. It's not yet clear whether White Spot plans on replacing its lost branch with another location nearby.
