TransLink is hosting a series of open houses to engage the general public in a discussion about the upcoming Millennium Line Broadway Extension. The route will see trains travel westward from the line's current terminus at VCC-Clark Station. Phase one will have the line transition from an elevated guideway to an underground section approximately five kilometres long. This will include six new stations, at Great Northern Way, Main Street, Cambie Street, Oak Street, Granville Street and ending at Arbutus.

Construction of the extension is one of the key priorities outlined in TransLink's 10-Year Investment Plan.  The Broadway Corridor is the second-largest employment centre in B.C., and contains the largest hospital and the largest university in Western Canada. It is the route of the 99 B-Line, the busiest bus route in Canada and the United States.

The first open house took place on Saturday, June 24th, with TransLink and city staff available to answer questions from the public who attended. Feedback was collected via verbal engagement, interactive display boards and online questionnaires.

Two additional sessions are scheduled for 4-7 PM on June 27 and 28 at the Crossroads Building at 511 West Broadway in Vancouver. Those who are unable to attend the open house, but who would like to provide input on key aspects of the Millennium Line Broadway Extension, can take part in a questionnaire from June 19 to July 8, 2017.
