In the seven months since our last update, progress at the site of Reliance Properties and The Jim Pattison Group's Burrard Place has been moving along nicely. The excavation for the 54-storey residential tower has now reached a depth of approximately 35 metres below grade. Slated to eventually become Vancouver's tallest residential-only tower, the 54-storey highrise will be accompanied by a 13-storey office block, the base of which will become the new flagship location of Jim Pattison Downtown Toyota.
Considered as a whole, the new development will represent a massive change for the area, as the prime downtown site was once occupied by a pair of dilapidated old houses and a vacant lot. Located at the corner of Burrard and Drake, within walking distance of Sunset Beach Park, Davie Village, and Yaletown, Burrard Place will put residents in the heart of the action.
Beyond the promise of a desirable address, Burrard Place will provide residents with a host of top-tier personal conveniences, such as motion-sensor lighting and automated smart control appliances. Units will benefit greatly from ample natural light and sweeping views of the Vancouver skyline. The tower's public amenity spaces will centre around the 30,000-square-foot Club One, which will be home to a fitness centre, yoga studio, pool, and dining lounge with both indoor and outdoor space.
Once complete, Burrard Place will become a major part of downtown Vancouver's upward ascent. The city's tallest residential-only tower has pushed the limits of local height restrictions, bringing the skyline ever higher.
SkyriseVancouver will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
