The oblong block at the southernmost corner of Richards and Drake Streets is being pumped with a collective 86 residential storeys in two separate highrise towers that have made a big impact on the Yaletown skyline. The Charleson and 498 Drake Street, developed by Onni Group and Wall Financial Corporation respectively, share the same number of storeys. Each boasting 43 levels and designs by DIALOG, the two towers are at similar stages of construction, with glazing steadily covering the concrete floor plates.

The floor plans contained within The Charleson are comparatively generous. With just 100 units in the building, living spaces are expansive, and come with balconies and double-glazed windows for extra insulation. A pool, rooftop garden, children's play area, entertainment suite, and fitness centre are among the project's on-site amenities.

Like The Charleson, 498 Drake Street is anchored to Richards Street with a substantial residential podium. However, at 300 units, it contains a considerably heftier number of residences within its perimeter. It too will offer amenities like an outdoor terrace, gym, and meeting spaces.

Both point towers are now conspicuously attached to the neighbourhood's urban fabric. A slew of construction updates in our Forum show how the pair is interacting with one another, their podiums touching in the middle as they shoot vertically at opposing intersections.
