  • a 12-storey building with commercial uses on the first floor, 25 senior social housing units on the second floor and market residential units above;
  • 110 market residential units, 37% of which are two- or three-bedroom units;

  • a 13-storey building with commercial uses on the first floor, 25 senior social housing units on the second floor and market residential units above;
  • 119 market residential units, 68% of which are two- or three-bedroom units;
  • a floor space ratio (FSR) of 7.06 and a total floor area of approximately 12,027m2 (129,465 sq.ft.); and
  • 81 underground vehicle parking spaces and 228 bicycle parking spaces.

  • 130 underground vehicle parking spaces, and 175 bicycle parking spaces.

Chinatown sure getting some exciting projects in the last few years and hopefully with these new developments, it will speed up the progress of the revitalization of China Town.

I agree. There are people who are against the coming changes, but I think as long as social issues are taken in consideration and dealt with, China Town has plenty of room for re-development and improvement.

oh no, so what are they going to do now, chop the building's height to half and double the price?
 
Latest update:
As expected, Beedie Development Group and Merrick Architecture have submitted another development application to the City for 105 Keefer Street after weathering council rejection and widespread community opposition. A drop in height from 12 to nine storeys is the primary alteration to the proposal, a figure that aligns with existing planning regulations, and means the proposal will not need to endure a rigorous rezoning exercise.

Developer and City staff hosted an open house at the Chinese Cultural Centre Auditorium for this project tonight and were available to answer questions.
